When I first heard somebody was designing a refrigerator with Internet access almost 10 years ago now, I thought ‘clever, some really lazy person never has to leave the kitchen.’ Now it is 2008 and what goes best with coffee other then a yappie dog and a liberal arts degree? Internet on my coffee mug. I would love to meet the VC who funded this project and get funding for my time traveling, stock market predicting, lederhosen wearing perpetual motion machine (with Internet access).

It’s official, and you heard it here first (possibly).

I heard on the radio while driving to work this morning Chuck Norris will be supporting Mike Huckabee for President of the United States this coming November. With news like that and the threat of round house kicks, I know who I will be voting for.

If you have not heard by now, Vancouver, USA was hit with a fancy tornado two days ago. You will be happy (I hope) to know I faired very nicely. Other than my mother calling me 15 seconds after work was over wondering if my apartment was still standing, I would not have known it was even close to my place.

In summary, I would not have really known there was a tornado if it wasn’t for the news or all my family members calling me to see if I was still alive.

Well, except one of my co-workers was not so lucky. That is right, I know a celebrity. The tornado decided with an all-knowing, divine like decision to go through his backyard. As you can expect, there was damage: no more truck and no more shed. He also came out with some trash that was not his and he did not have to pay for. Luck him.

Also luck him that he works for Formos, a place which will take a serious situation like this (or getting hit by a boat) and keep it light. He has a new nickname of Dorthy. He also logged his time for the rest of the day on Thursday under ‘Dealing with a tornado’ which is not a metaphor for writing software.

I am in the process of planning a trip to Pamplona, Spain this summer to Run with the Bulls. I have realized I know nothing about the travel system in Europe. Ok, I am fairly certain they have planes, trains, and automobiles over there, but learning all about their systems is an adventure in itself.

As of now, we think we are going to go from PDX to Dublin, Ireland. After three nights there, we are flying down to Spain (possibly through Madrid, possibly straight to Pamplona) for two or three more nights. Then comes the transcontinental train ride to Paris. No that is not transcontinental but it really long. Three nights in Paris. Amsterdam will be our final stop.

I am really looking forward to this trip since I have never been to Europe. Making sure there are flights/trains leaving and coming on the days we want them too is exhausting. We will figure it out though and there will be more on this later.
