I was at Starbucks this morning doing my Sunday morning coffee and reading thing when I saw some papers for the Bridge Pedal. For those who don’t know what the Bridge Pedal is, it is an event run every year where a group of people take their bikes over all the bridges in Portland.

I am quite excited to do this for a few reasons. 1) I have never been on all the bridges in Portland let alone in one day. 2) I have never ridden my bike in Portland since I got it. 3) It just sounds darn fun.

If you are interested in going with me, give me a holler. If you don’t want to go with me, you can register at the link above. Also they had $3 off coupons at Starbucks as well if you want to get some cash off the ride.

I am so stoked – less than a month to go. See some of you there.

Boo…I just realized I have a volleyball tournament in Seaside the same weekend as the Bridge Pedal.

It’s a fun ride though. I’d recommend signing up for the early start for the 10 bridge ride. 36 miles is a pretty decent distance, but doable for any reasonably fit person if they pace themselves. Starting early means it won’t get too hot and you can avoid some of the crowding. Make sure you take a water bottle (there’s places to refill it along the way) or a camelback.

I plan on taking my Camelback and probably some food. Thanks for the heads up on starting early.
