It has come to my attention Vice President Cheney apparently does not know how to read. Either that or my third grade teacher could not teach.
Cheney recently announced he was not part of the Executive which is not what my teachers told me. I thought I would look it up myself, and here is what I found out:
US Constitution - Article II Section 1. 1.
The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the term of four Years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same Term, be elected…

Not to say Cheney isn’t a kniving louse (he’s definitely playing word games here), but although the vice president is elected with the president, his only actual duty under the constitution aside from a potential presidential replacement is to preside over the senate, obviously part of our legislative branch. He has no specified executive power or responsibilities, although apparently some can be granted him through the president.
It sort of demonstrates the level of competence of the WP journalist (and quite a few of the people mentioned in that editorial) when they fail to recognize that. Personally, I’d avoid linking to the Washington Post, and also to editorials as much as possible. There should be an actual news article around somewhere.

Thank you for that. First of all, I realize both side of every argument before I enter them. Secondly, like most of my life, you should probably take most of the things I say in life with a grain of salt.

Oh don’t worry. I wasn’t trying to put you on the spot. It’s not your or my job to understand the intimate details of how the government works, but it kind of is a political journalist’s. My criticism was at the WP, not you.
And I’m not convinced Cheney isn’t doing doing something illegal behind this.

When I originally read about this story I probably read 6-8 articles from around the world, but when I went to write this post a few hours later I could only really find the WP one - while in the 30 seconds I looked that is.
