Learning to Crawl Before I Can Run

Yesterday, I ventured to Mt Hood Meadows to go skiing with James and Jason. This was my third time skiing ever (all this year), and it is a blast. I love skiing. I plan on purchasing some skis for next year and going quite frequently.
The problem with learning how to ski though is that you call down a lot. According to James, I fell - on average - every three minutes which is probably very accurate. At least three of those were face first down hill which is followed with my feet which have long pointy things attached to them. So today, every movement I make is painful from the six hours of rolling down the hill I did yesterday. Oh boy is it fun.
Happy skiing.

Nice dude. How much $$ that run you on average?

It was $50 for the day pass plus $16 for equipment at GI Joes. I have normally gone night skiing there and the equipment and pass was $50 total.
Buying skis and a season pass pay for themselves quite quickly.

For the record, your original estimate was falling down once every 2 minutes…33% more often than my estimate.
If it makes you feel any better, I crashed about 5 times in the 45 minutes after I took off on my own down Heather Canyon.
By the way, Meadows offers a 5x night skiing pass for $50. It’s a pretty darn good deal if you don’t want to spend the $40 a season pass costs. Of course, only about 1/3 of the trails are open for night skiing, but that’s still a few hundred acres.
