Some Updates

I added a few sidebar links which are worth mentioning.  Before I start, if you have been reading this site for a while now (since before this year), you might have noticed that I typically write about every update – even the stupid ones.  Well that will change.  There will only be posts for significant update (either large or important material).

This post falls into the latter.  I have added five links to the sidebar, and they are (ordered top to bottom):

LinkedIn: A link to my LinkedIn profile.  If you do not know what LinkedIn is try this Wikipedia article.  Basically though, it is a social networking for professional.  It could be argued that it is useless, but I would argue that you will get out of it what you put into it.  If, for example, you want to get in touch with, say, an investment banker in Kansas, you could pile through your network and your network’s network until you find one.  Either way, give it a try and connect with me.

My iCal: My calendar, in a nice viewable state.  So, if you ever want to know where I am at any give time (minus physical location), check it out.  It is quite helpful for scheduling meetings.

My Vita: My Vita, My Resume, My Work. Whatever you would like to call it, the electronic version is here.

Technorita: The importance of this site is a bit arguable.   The nature of this site is to be a blog search engine (even though all search engines search blogs anyway).  I wanted to add a link here though to thank anybody who links to my site.  I wanted to make this page be indexed in the search engines so that those who link to me get one more link to that post.  Hey it could help.

Alexa Ranking: This site seems even less important.  I am still not sure why Amazon bought them.  Maybe Phil can shed some light since he is closer to the ventor world.  There is no really point of adding this link; I just thought it would be fun.

I hope you enjoy what you see.

[...] Digmann was talking about some upgrades to his site, and spoke about his Alexa Ranking and why Amazon would want Alexa.  Well I have known about Alexa for a while, and while it’s kinda neat it’s limited in the fact that it extrapolates it’s information from people who install the Alexa toolbar.  According to Zack, the population is basically Korean, soo Alexa is kinda neat if you want to know about emerging economies that are about 10 years behind those who are the innovators like the Philippines and Ethiopia.  But we will talk about those later.  [...]
