I would like to congradulated UP Men’s Cross Country team (#8 in the country) on the second place finish at Jim Drews Intive this last weekend. They finished just a few points behind top ranked Wisconsin. As many of you know, I really like Wisconsin, but I might have to go for UP on this one. Way to go guys.

Ray has informed me of a service which will tell you the geographical location of an IP address. It is hostip.info. I thought it was interesting and useful. You can do things like:

There is also a Firefox plugin. I thought this was going to be useful until I noticed that only 50% of those located are located correctly, according to a survey they have on their site. Although this may be true, it may also be true that this could help in finding virsuses and the such. It appears they are also working on a Thunderbird extension.
To get rid of all this damn spam, I have decided to install Akismet. Yes, you guessed it, that’s a SPAM blocker for these comments. I was going to wait until v2.1 which I am planning to have out this winter, but it was too damn annoying. I would also like to thank Alex for creating a PHP5 library.
