I would like to report that there were be some scheduled downtime for my server and email in the next couple weeks. The exact time and duration is still not determined though. The reason for the outage is simple. We are in the process of co-locating the server. We have recently purchase a new Dell 1U server (specs will be posted later), and are doing the necessary moves to make this server really cool. If you are trying to view this site or get ahold of me or anybody else on the system during this time, just come back later.

And Let the Job Search Begin

Well I figured out that with the money I currently have, I have two months of living left before I am screwed. My plan now is to start looking for a job and adopting my resume accordingly. I think I will be looking at Craigs List and Monster to start. Each of these sites break Computer Software jobs into at least three or more catagories, so I will look at all of them.

Besides doing all that, I really do not know what else I am planning to do, but I have a few contacts that could help me in the process.

Dropping a Nut

I went to the beach this last weekend to avoid the massive heat of Portland and got a sun burn instead. That wasn’t the only excitement we had either. There was the five hour Risk game. Camping next to drunk high schoolers was interesting - no I did not buy them there alcohol.

The big excitement came when we were doing dounuts in the sand with Brandon’s truck (or well his Dad’s truck). After doing them for a while with no problem we decided to drop the truck into 2-wheel drive and try something. After about 30 feet, we started to here a large bang coming from the back end. Brandon jumps out of the truck, and before I can even get out I start hearing a few “fuck”, “damn”, and “bitch”.

At first glance it looked like his drive train had busted in two. Turns out that just the U-joint had broken and caused the drive train to spin on the ground. There are a few nice pictures of the situation.

Turns out that Brandon’s grandparents live in the area and could take him to get new merch for the truck. I was the lucky one that got to stay back and hold up the fort. The fun part came when the tide started to come in. I have never fixed a truck on the beach before either.

So that was my weekend. How was yours?

Book Report

Recently I have been trying to finish a book I have been reading for a while. The book is The Warren Buffett Way by Robert G. Hagstrom which I finish today. The book outlines Warren Buffett’s ideas of investing in companies including things like company value and management’s ability to manage.

Would I suggest this book to somebody who is interested in investing? Yes, of course. But I would suggest that the person have a bit of knowledge in investing in general before starting. The book is an easy read but if you do not have some understanding of financial markets you may be lost at times.

Happy trading.

So back when I updated to version 2.0, I decided that I also wanted to redo my RSS Feed. So I did, and today it is back online.

It is suggested that one unsubscribes to the current version and resubscribe, but you don’t have to.
